Welcome to the Massachusetts Medical Society team page in support of the Louis D. Brown Peace Institute and its Mother's Day Walk for Peace.
The annual Walk for Peace, founded 27 years ago, was created for mothers of murdered children to receive support and love from their neighbors. It continues as a powerful way to honor loved ones who have been murdered and embrace our shared responsibility of peacemaking.
The Peace Institute notes that for every homicide victim, there are at least 10 immediate family members directly impacted with the emotional, physical and financial stress of losing a loved one to murder. That does not include the extended family members, classmates, colleagues, teachers, students or the families who are impacted by a loved one committing a murder. The toll of homicide affects the entire community and creates a large demand for the resources and the support that the Louis D. Brown Peace Institute offers.
The Massachusetts Medical Society encourages you to join its team on Mother’s Day, Sunday, May 14, 2023, at 8:00 AM as a walker. Make a donation, and share this page with your colleagues, family and friends . Every dollar raised will advance Louis D. Brown Peace Institute's mission as a Center of Healing, Teaching and Learning!
