We Walk For Randy

We Walk for Randy

As people, we are a universe. Riddled with complexities, we hold joy, and pain, light and dark, compassion, and anger, love and fear, hopes for tomorrow's sunshine and histories of cracks fallen through. Filled to the brim with all the intricacies that make up a great man, a great human, Brent "Randy" Stevenson died too young. He was murdered on November 07, 2017 in the streets of Boston. We will remember Randy for the tenderness in which he cared for his daughters Wynter and August. We will remember Randy for the way he brought light into any room he walked into, made you laugh so hard an inhaler was a necessity. We remember Randy for his dreams of becoming a comedic rock-star like Kevin Hart, his aspiration of rewriting the single stories society has prescribed to the people in his community through art. We remember the way he would show late to holiday parties, but he would always show up. We remember his contagious smile. We remember the way he always kept it real, even if we were not ready to hear it. We remember Randy because he was a son, a brother, a cousin, a nephew, a father, a life partner. We remember Randy because at his core he wanted a better life for all who came after him. Most importantly, we remember Randy because he was a human born worthy of love, and belonging, and respect and compassion, and dignity, the way any human is.

Please help us support Louis D. Brown Peace Institute by making a contribution to our team and sharing this page with your family and friends. Every dollar we raise will advance Louis D. Brown Peace Institute's mission as a Center of Healing, Teaching, and Learning and to respond effectively and equitably to murder, trauma, grief and loss. Your investment allows LDBPI to continue to meet the needs of survivor families and communities that are consistent and compassionate to prevent cycles of retaliatory violence; support advocacy for policy that promotes dignity and compassion for all families impacted by murder; and continue to provide personalized training and education for response teams, professionals and students.

Together, we can make a difference and build together for Generation Peace!
