On Sunday morning, May 12th let’s gather at Town Field for the
Louis D. Brown Mother’s Day Walk 4 Peace. This year Highland Park walks in Unity with Ruth Rollins and her organization, We are Better Together (wab2g.org). We walk to honor Ruth’s son, Warren “Danny” Hairston who was murdered in 2007 at the age of 21, to remember all those we have lost to gun violence, and to affirm the good work being done to “Cultivate Cycles of Peace” in our Highland Park Neighborhood and beyond.

To find us at the walk’s kickoff (or along the route) look for Warren “Danny” Hairston’s blue banner and our giant sunflowers. We'll be at Towne Field at 8 AM. The walk begins at 9:00. Everyone is welcome! If you are unable to walk this year, please join us in spirit by contributing to our team's fund raising effort for the LDB Peace Institute.
