Beth Israel Lahey Health (BILH)

Welcome to the BILH Mother's Day Walk for Peace Fundraising Page!

Beth Israel Lahey Health (BILH) is proud to be a sponsor of the Mother’s Day Walk for Peace! Please join Dr. Kevin Tabb, BILH’s President and CEO, your colleagues and their families as we walk in support of peace. This will be Dr. Tabb’s 10th year serving as Co-Chair and supporting this event and the important work of the Louis D. Brown Peace Institute (LDBPI).

Working across the Commonwealth, the LDBPI provides support, tools, education and assistance for families and communities impacted by violence, murder, trauma, grief and loss. Since 1996, the Mother's Day Walk for Peace has been a beloved tradition and celebration of our potential to create more peaceful communities. This year’s theme is Cultivating Cycles of Peace with the aim of empowering survivors of violence, supporting citizens returning from incarceration and their families and investing in Generation Peace.

BILH understands that in addition to medical and behavioral health care, families of homicide victims often require emotional and practical support to deal with the physical, emotional, and financial stress they face as a result of their loss. That kind of compassionate and coordinated response not only helps to interrupt cycles of violence but also helps families heal from intergenerational trauma.

For over ten years, the partnership between the LDBPI and the Center for Violence Prevention and Recovery (CVPR) at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center (BIDMC) has developed into a national model on effective responses to survivors of homicide victims. Grounded in racial justice and equity, the LDBPI and CVPR work together to strengthen communities, prevent violence and advocate for more compassionate and equitable health care, criminal justice, and societal responses to homicide. The partnership’s innovation stems from both organizations’ deep investment in reflective practices and intentional teamwork to meet the needs of survivors of homicide victims.

Because BILH is a sponsor of the Mother's Day Walk for Peace, BILH employees can register for this event at no charge (please see directions below). Employees will also have the option to make a donation, if they choose.
